Biography
In his current role, Underwood works with leaders across the college to support strategic planning, accreditation and continuous improvement initiatives. He also champions innovative learning experiences, technologies and strategies that help support and sustain academic and pedagogical excellence.
Prior to this role in the College of Business, he served in several roles across the university, including as the director of instructional design and development for the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL), assistant director and instructional designer for eLearning Services in the Division of Outreach and as the technology coordinator for several grant programs in the College of Education.
Underwood also regularly teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in instructional technology, research and evaluation for the Department of Educational Technology, Research and Assessment (ETRA) and serves on thesis and dissertation committees for students in instructional technology.
Before joining NIU in 2002, Underwood taught high school mathematics in Downers Grove and Rochelle, Illinois.
